Prior to installing your Netgear WiFi range extender, we recommend you to familiarize yourself with its LEDs and buttons first
The side panel of your range extender contains the following buttons
- Reset Button: Pressing and holding this Reset button for about a few seconds will reset your device.
- WPS Button: Pushing it will let your Netgear device to connect to your main WiFi network via WPS.
- Power Button: Your Netgear AC750 will turn off by pushing the power button.
LEDs and their Description
Solid Green: Netgear AC750 is powered on.
Solid Amber: Netgear AC750 (EX3110) is booting.
Off: Your Netgear device is turned off.
This will indicate the network connection between the router and your Netgear WiFi range extender.
Solid Green: The connection is excellent.
Solid Amber: A very good connection.
Solid Red: The connection between your devices is worst.
Off: There isn’t any connection.
This will indicate a secure network connection between your Netgear extender and a computer, laptop, or mobile device.
Solid Green: Your devices have established the best connection.
Solid Amber: A good connection has been discovered.
Solid Red: Your devices have a poor connection.
Off: There is no connection between your devices.
Solid Green: WPA or WPA2 (Wi-Fi Protected Access) security is turned on.
Blinking/ flashing Green: A safe and secure WPS connection has been successfully been established.
Off: The WiFi security is disabled.
Now, the next step would be the placement of your WiFi range extender.
Your Netgear AC750 (EX3110) should be placed within the reach and range of the main WiFi router.
Connect them both via Ethernet cable.
They should be placed properly into an electrical outlet.
Consider placing them closer to your existing modem.
Note: You main router and the existing WiFi modem should be up-to-date.
There are two simple methods through which you can set up your device easily.
- First is the WPS method
- And second is the Web browser setup method
Anyone of the above-mentioned method can be used to set up your device. But before anything else, make sure that Netgear extender firmware is up-to-date.
The WPS Method
As a matter of fact, the WPS (WiFi-Protected Access) button lets you join a safe and secure network without entering the SSID (network name) and security key (password).
How to use WPS to connect the main WiFi router and Netgear range extender with each other
- Plug in your Netgear device into a damaged-free power source.
- Push the WPS button on it.
- Press the WPS button on your main WiFi router as well but only when the LED lights on your range extender starts blinking.
Note: If the 5GHz is supported by your main device, then you are supposed to repeat the 2nd and the 3rd step.
See this step is as simple as 123. You can now unplug your device and move it to a new location away from heat, dust, and congested place.
Use of Web browser setup to connect the Netgear device and main router with each other
- Take a computer or laptop (any).
- Open the WiFi connection manager on it.
- Get connected to the Netgear_ext.
- Open an internet browser on your device.
- Enter mywifiext or mywifiext.net, not in the search bar, in the browser’s address bar.
Note: In case you face mywifiext.net login issues, then use 192.168.1.250 to access mywifiext.net setup and login page.
When Netgear Genie setup page displays, just follow the on-screen instructions and configure your device easily without any trouble.
